Router Hell
5 Answers
I have for a coulpe of years connected a Blueyonder Cable Modem (Surfboard) to my pc via USB with no problem. I have now got another PC and decided to network the two. I have purchased a Trust 350BR broadband router and a D-link pci ethernet adapter. I have connected my modem via RJ45 to the WAN input on the router and then LAN on the router to the ethernet adapter also by RJ45. I have run the set up by accessing the router through firefox and IE6 and have been assigned an IP through the routers DHCP . I cannot however get a DNS address and Blueyonder refuse to give me one as it should be dynamically assingned. So far, I haven't been able to connect on one pc, let alone two. My IP/TCP settings on win xp are set to obtain these setting automatically. I have spent 20 mins on the phone to Blueyonder tech support @ 1.20 per min and they diagnosed a faulty router. I took it to a friends and this connected on his Blueyonder connection straight away. What am I doing wrong?

Sequin - Yes I have cloned my Mac Address, I have run the BY (Motorola) disk to configure to ethernet. The lights on my router indicate that it is getting a spot on connection to my Modem.
