This isn't the first time major security flaws have been uncovered in IE and won't be the last, if your really worried about browser security then don't use IE. (in fact if your really worried about security in general then don't use windows)
Although security flaw are found in all browsers from time to time IE gets the most by far and it tends to take longer for them to be fixed than on the other browsers. (some may argue that more problems are found in IE because it has a greater userbase, which may be the case but that doesn't mean the problems aren't there!)
