6 Here is a clue if it helps! There is an old Spanish coin which is worth two pistoles, this is the whole word. If you need any more help, please ask. I am stuck on 18 & 27 as well
6. definitely doubloon, however correct or incorrect the quiz setter is re the number of pistoles, it's the only possible answer given the cryptic part of the clue.
27 bistort - a plant said to cure snakebite - b (a note) is tort (a legal wrong) - answer contains bi which means two in Latin
I notice the suggestion of global warming, but GRM should have stuck to carbon dioxide if you want your 'two' in. Seems there were single and double doubloons, which probably accounts for the variation.
qu. 75. The first word is split into three two letter parts, each clued. The second is a cartel. Unfortunately my spelling does not quite match the clue. Perhaps there is an alternative?
