no escape...
10 Answers
There is a man who lives in a small, empty house, with no windows, doors, chimneys, nothing. So he has no escape, right? He's pretty much stuck in there. As I said, the house is empty, but all there is is a round table and a bread knife.
One day, people claimed to see that man walking down the street. The house hadn't been damaged or changed.
Of course I know the answer, so I'll say now that this obviously isnt a real life scenario, and the answer is very ridiculous.
Good luck!

Just exactly how ridiculous is the answer, 'cos I've heard of something similar to this that goes along the lines of:
...... the guy takes the knife and uses it to cut the table in half (it's obviously a good knife!!).
He then takes the 2 halves of the table and puts them together to make a whole.
He then proceeds to climb through the whole (hole) and escapes.
Yea, a bit crap I know - but you did say that answer was very ridiculous.

Going on from Gizmonster's answer, there used to be the one where he rubs his hands together until they are sore, then he uses the saw to cut the table into halves etc. etc. and then shouts until he is hoarse and then jumps on the horse and gallops off.
He could walk through the doorWAY - you just say there's no doors.

I vaguely remember something like this doing the rounds over 40 years ago. The answer was along the lines of (and this sounds pathetic I know)- he saw the knife, and with the 'saw' he cut the table in half. Then he put the two halves together. Two halves make a whole... and he climbed through the 'hole' and escaped.
Something like that anyway.
