I actually answered a call from them, and the telesales rep at their end poses as your mobile service provider - they will guess this from your dialling code. During the call, they will try and pump you for personal information about your mobile phone account; the end movitve being a "free" mobile phone once they have obtained your bank account details. Luckily, I was able to se through them, so asked them if they were part of 02. The rep kept trying to duck out of the question, so eventually I had enough and said "JUST ANSWER THE QUESTION! ARE YOU PART OF 02?". He had to say No. I then told them what I thought of their tactics in good old blunt Anglo-Saxon, called them scamming c***s, and hung up.
When I tracked their website down, and called their Head Office (0870 011 6871), before I had time to go into my complaint, the advisor just said "oh, you're boring me now" and hung up! Anyway, I've now complained to the TPS and Ofcom, and now advise anyone receiving such calls from this number to report them to the Information Communications Office on 01625 545745.
Be alert of scamming low-lifes like Communications Direct, and report as soon as you can.
