This is a little specific but I thoughtI would give it a shot...

Have this tv card. It works lovely in my mini - mutlimedia centre... Running Win XP pro... The only problem is and this is annoying there is no sound in live mode - if you record you get perfect sound... also no sound on win fm - am using the aux plug in on the onboard sound... Any advice most appreciated... Leadtek not too helpful as all they have suggested is that update all drivers which I have done to no avail.

Have you tried connecting the CD audio cable from the card to the computer. If you haven't do so then
Set your settings on your PVR software so the input is from the CD audio, instead of line in or mic or whatever the default is.
Go into windows volume control and set the recording to be CD audio too.

It also may be worth updating what ever soundcard drivers you have
