Is your Sky Plus Box noisy?

Has anyone else noticed if their Sky Plus box is very noisy?

I have one downstairs and one in the bedroom and every now and then, usually in the middle of the night, it starts making whirring and clicking sounds, as if it's downloading updates. This can go on for up to 20 minutes.

I've complained to Sky before and they deny this is usual, but changed the box, it made no difference though.

Yeah mine makes whirring noises even if it's been switched off to standby for ages.

I don't have Sky Plus but our BT Vision box is very noisy! The hard drive in it makes more noise than my PC does when i'm playing a 'processor hungry' game.
