Whirlpool American Fridge freezer prob - Freezer not freezing
I have just bought a graded Whirlpool Frbb2vaf20 American Fridge freezer & are having problems with the freezer. It doesn't seem to want to freeze. We put it on the fast freeze & it then flashes -- on the display & it then states the temperature & about 1/2 hour later the alarm beeps & it flashes -- again. it doesn't freeze anything, however it does produce the ice cubes. We have had this problem since we purchased it 2 days ago. Can anyone help? As I don't want to be charged 80 service charge with Whirlpool

Perhaps you could have a look through the manual, it might suggest something that should be done before the freezer is filled - try the FAQ section. If nothing else works and the item is new, then call the supplier, it is their responsibility to make sure that the item is working.
Don't these fridge/freezers have to be plumbed in to the mains? Maybe that is what is wrong.
I hope you manage to sort it soon.

A common problem with Whirlpool "American" style fridge/freezers is a group of 4 capacitors on the circuit board at the back that start the various compressors. These are prone to go faulty. If you can use a soldering iron then they're quite easy to replace. Otherwise you may have to pay an exorbitant amount for a replacement board. You can find more info on my site: www.brysat.eu/whirlpool.aspx . If you've bought it recently though then it should be fixed under guarantee.
