i have shoulderlength hair normaly worn tied in a ponytale. I want a 'updo' as in clipped up with some spikey bits. I dont have time for a visit too the hair salon or want one of those mobile hairdresers who give you a council facelift. So any tips for d.i.y. Hairdressing?=0),

Brush hair to one side at nape. Run a centre line of hair-grips from nape to crown. Pleat hair over hair-grips and hold with hair pins; end lengths should poke out of top of pleat. Spritz to firm pleat.

Arrange-tong hair poking out of pleat and pin. Pull sections from front recession area and tong.

i may need an xtra pair of hands.0)
Great answer from terambulan but a simpler version is to just twist from the nape whilst pulling up to crown of head, then hold with a pretty slide. You still g.et the ends poking out at the top which you can tittilate. Good luck
You can get mini grips like baby ones of these in anywhere like Boots and Superdrug...

You can twist hair up in sections and secure with the grips then style the ends out.
An extra pair of hands is your stylist.
Go to hothair.co.uk and buy a straight and more or feather wrap, instant spikey hair!
