If so,can you get involved with a patient romance wise,what are the consequences if any???

That would depend on the type of patient and the type of romance.
Getting invloved with a vulnerable patient i.e. elderly , mentally ill or very young would probably be a no no. However, the majority of people are in hospiat for only a short time, so getting involved after discharge should not be a problem unless, again, you were using your position of trust in the community to take advantage of a vulnerable person.
There is certainly no reason why a nurse could not take care of a partner in hospital unless their objectivity was compromised in some way.
