Kitchen planning - help needed

I will be replacing my kitchen in the coming months and have a problem with the design. It is 7'6 wide and is currently in a U shape, with the sink under the window.

This means I have two awkward corners and am considering having two straight runs, dispensing with the sink unit, and moving the sink to the side.

This would give easy access to all the units, but I do prefer to have the sink under the window.

Any opinions or advice welcome

Sorry, I should have said: the wire pullout is housed in a normal 1000mm unit not a 'corner' unit.
Sinks better away from windows, they only end up getting splashed all the time!
we too have a 'u' shaped kitchen and it depends on what you're trying to achieve really, ethel. if you want maximum storage then leave the sink where it is and use the corners very much as zacmaster suggests (we have exactly what he/she describes and they hold a heck of a lot of stuff. if you put rarely used stuff at the back then it's really not a problem). if you're not so worried about storage space, then go with what you're thinking and move the sink to the side, although i personally think you'd regret it.
The magic corners go into the 1000 units that follow into the corner . They are pretty good - we fit a lot. Why not get a magnet kitchen, they are better than b&q?

Where are you situated Ethel? Maybe we could design one for you if your close?
