Can cats get conjunctivitus and whats a cure for it?

My cat keeps waking up with loads of browny puss in his eyes. I wipe it away, but keeps coming back.
It seems to be only when he has been sleeping.

Hi yes cats can get it. My cat had it and the vet gave him some drops to clear it up but he did say it could get better on its own it would just take longer.
someone once told me bathing the eye with cold black tea is good for conjunctivitus never tried it but might be worth a go
Yes, and its is an infection, best to treat it with drops from the vet. If neglected it can be very irritating to the eye/eyes.
Cold black tea is excellent for cleaning eyes, but it does sound like he needs treatment from the vets.
