Acer aspire one problems..........HELP!!!!!!!!

I can`t see my wall on Facebook or get msn.
The updates won`t update and Acer support are closed over the weekend.
Any help appreciated.

Switch off pc.....count to ten....switch back on. Any new settings will have set themselves!

I have support from techguys for my other pcs but they say only Acer can help me and as ive said, they`re closed til monday.

I suggest it is your firewall.

Try disabling it TEMPORARILY and see what happens.

You should close facebook, turn off your firewall, open facebook

What firewall do you have?

Is your machine Windows XP, Vista or Linux?

It's a linux one Ethel (I've Tried to help on this one already)

don't think it's a firewall problem.. all the parts on the facebook page use port80 so if part of it is working it should all work. (also I don't think the one comes with a firewall installed as standard)

It may need the flash plugin for some to work. but that should install automatically. (out of interest do youtube videos work?)

Select YUM from the drop down menu and then select agree and install... if it give you a choice to open with a package manager then select that and it should install the flash plugin

the main issue is the live updates are not working, everything I could see seemed to point to the update service being unreliable and most people seem to say that all that can be done is just keep trying until it works!

Its got Mozilla firefox on it.
Ive installed that chuck but still the same.

You need to ensure you down load the linux compatible msm plug in designed for the acer.

If you have activated the desktop right click option then from the men select setting as then add software. You will be resented with a long list of compatible add in's. Locate amsm and install, then restart. You will them be ok with the msm.
