recording from vhs to dvd help

I have recently bought a dvd recorder and am wanting to transfer things from vhs to dvd.I hooked my vhs to my dvd by scart but when i try to watch the vhs through the dvd player there is sound but no picture!Am i doing something wrong?Could someone please help,cheers.

suggest you try a different scart lead first, then retune the dvd again if this fails.

Check which of the 2 scarts on your VHS is an OUTPUT (assuming it has two scarts) and connect between that and your DVD IN scart. If still no joy, suggest you try a different scart lead
What sort of tapes are you playing, "home" or pre-recorded tapes? If the latter, it could be that your recorder won't accept a signal that contains macrovision copy protection.

Thanks all,i sorted it.There was two options for the scart input,it was on RGB so i changed it to the other one and the picture came on.Cheers anyway.
