Is it a rented house?

You will get app 60 pw for you and about 50 pw child tax credits for your child.

If you have a mortgage they will only pay the interest. If it's rented then it'll take about 8 - 12 weeks before they pay but they should cover the whole amount.

It's hard times.....
The best bet is to consult Citizens Advice Bureau who will give free and confidential advice on what you are entitled to and under what circumstances. The address will be in your local phone book

i just wanted to hear from someone on here maybe someone in the same position as my sister...cant get hold of c,a,b in our town im afraid....
She should get the full rent paid at that rate. If she rings up the housing benefit department, there should be an automated message which tells you exactly what they pay for what sort of property. I would have thought that she would get the full amount paid, as long as she isnt living in a property which has more rooms than she actually needs. They will come out and do a full check.
Not sure about the discretionary payment though, never heard of that one.
