Folk dont seem to realise that they dont own the house they only own the mortgage or the debt.
The building society owns the house until you pay the last payment.
Until then the house does belong to the building society.


Do some people go into buying a house without realising the implications of non-payment of their mortgage.
Is this the reason for the credit crunch?
People living beyond their means?
Or am i wrong?

I agree with leggy about the working class man who now "owns" his ex Council house and looks down on the ones who continue to rent. I've met the type. the funny thing is, the man who works a 50 hour week and rents his home, is now better off than those who were on �200.000 a year, but who've lost their jobs and might lose their homes as well. Funny old world.

nearly 30 yaers ago

i satyed in the uk as a homeowner only 2 1�/2 years ago

and i witnessed greedy money grabbing folk buying houses tonrent to folk comin from poland

i never saw them complain


im sorry mate

but because you have a massive debt it diont make you a batter person.


its not a labour thing and its not a working class thing either.

your maximum mortgage should be 0,000 a year , unless your wages have risen of course.
