guess what I just done, set off the panic alarm by mistake at work. not my fault really cos someone stopped to talk to me and my knee accidently caught it. ha ha, that made everyone move. (its under a desk) thought they were going to have to go and stand out in the cold. its ok now but I have hidden away from the rest of them feeling ever so slightly embrarrassed. has anyone ever done anything like that where they work? hope the rest of the day goes better. xxxx
I used to work at (aherm) McD's and used to sit at drive through freezing my @rse off, getting exteremly bored, anyway I found this button and though 'Mmmmmm what does it do', so of course I pressed it and all the tills went down!! Absolute chaos, I just said I did it whilst cleaning
They need a better button then.
Pizza Hut have a button you need to press with 2 fingers so it cant be pressed by mistake.
Goes straight to police station.
Pressing it by mistake isn't really possible , and doing it deliberately unnecessarily would get you sacked.
My hubby works for one of the motoring organisations and they have a panic button in the van in case they should be attacked or anything. He jumped in the van one night, chucked a heavy wrench on top on the button and all hell broke loose as 3 other patrols, his manager and a police car all appeared to assist! He didn't half feel stupid.
I managed to clear a 6 story office block whilst I was using a blow-torch in the plant room on the top floor. The 1st I knew about it, is when a fireman tapped me on the shoulder! I'd set the smoke detectors off, & 4 fire engines turned up.
The office wallers were not too happy..it was in the middle of winter & lagging it down:-)))
When my nan moved into a new nursing home me and my siblings were only young and whilst mum was helping her unpack we were pulling all the red light switch cords!! lol
I set off the main security alarm here at work last week (which is linked direct to the police) while doing some cabling I was following the same route as the alarm cables to make life easier for me and managed to set off the silent tamper alarm on one of the sensors so the first we know about it was 3 police cars turning up outside.
thank you all for making me feel that Im not the only idiot in the world.....its all gone quiet here now, and they wont let me near the desk anymore today.
