I currently live in a council owed property. Do i have to notify the council if my partner wanted to move in? And if so, will it affect my rehousing prioity?

Only if you are on housing benefit I think?

I am at the moment but i am going back to work this month so that will stop. so would they still need to be told?
yes because you'll be getting an automatic decrease in your council tax as the sole adult occupier.

i know that my council tax would go up as i would not be the only adult but would it then become a joint application for rehousing? my worry is that they would see a wage coming in and decide that i am no longer a proirity for rehousing, if that makes any sense lol
why do you need rehousing?
AFAIK, your priority for housing will remain the same - your wages, or those of your partner are irrelevant for social housing. Whether or not you are working or have a wage coming in has no bearing on whether you can pay your rent. Goodsoulette is incorrect that you should tell them ONLY if you get HB

However, if you have a wage coming in your HB will definitely be affected - yes, you will have to notify the council he has moved in.

You will also need to contact the IR if you are in receipt of any tax credits
