For more on marking an answer as the "Best Answer", please visit our FAQ.I saw this at the Museum of Contemporary Art in Chicago in 1999. It's called Powers of Ten by Charles and Ray Eames, is set in Grants Park Chicago and bernardo is spot on with the year 1977. There is a website here;

that explains a bit about the making of the film. Indeed, the whole venture seems to have become a marketable concept at one time, with Power of Ten days, CD's, posters and other products.
Nevertheless I remember it as a remarkable film.
I agree with brachiopod - there was also a short animated film called Cosmic Zoom, made by Canadian art students in 1968, which started with a boy rowing on a lake. After going 'outer space' it then zoomed into the cells of a mosquito on the boy's arm.
