I'm thinking of buy a Rav4 and was wondering if anyone had some advice for me? I know that I would like to get a 3 door but is there anything that I should look out for like, whats better to buy Petrol or Diesel, what kind of running costs do the have ect...........

They are probably the most car like of the so called soft-roaders, so are ok to drive on the road, nice engines, and reactive chassis.  Not much cop off road, if that matters, (particularly the 2WD versions of course). Usual Toyota strengths of good build and warranty. The diesels are not much more economical than the petrol versions, and although they do have a fair bit more torque, they are well down on power, so if you are only ever going to drive it on the road, the petrol might be better. Cant help feeling its not realy that manly a driving device.....
