Any help appreciated...

I have a Panasonic handheld camcorder thingy... bought 5 yrs ago and records onto Mini DV tapes (I think!). Bascially I want to edit some footage and can do it easier on the computer than on tape.
How do I transfer the taped footage onto my Mac.
I bought a cable yesterday from Currys. Its Firewire one end and similar to a mini USB the other (but not exactly the same as a mini USB). I plugged it all in turned it on. and couldnt get it to do anything!
The camera didnt mount onto the desktop or anything
Help appreciated!

You need to run the video editing software that you have on the Mac, and capture the movie from within it.
Use iMovie.

(You may have the older version, but there will be support for that too.)
