What do you do when you think you are friends with someone but then they backstap you? You think they are joking around when they take pi$$ but then you realise that when you hear them badmouthing they actually mean it!
I know i should talk to them but i cant bring myself to do it!!

I am soooooooo excited red - I think I've found it. I've seen unruly julie, meghandavis and I think - OMG mega excitement - me old mate Jogger Jayne. Where's Leggy, no-know, doc, logic??? am I on the right group?
I have to agree with Ethel here, it is a form of bullying. I used to have a 'friend' like this, but she used to put me down to my face infront of other people, knowing I wouldn't stand up for myself, coz I dont like to cause a scene.

When I eventually told her she was being nasty she would say she was only joking and where was my sense of humour, even though she knew she was being a biatch.
I let our 'friendship' fizzle out in the end and I dont miss her at all!!
Drop her like a ton of bricks.

Actualy don't contact her and see how long it takes her to call you. When she does see how long you can string out not answering her messages.

When she finaly gets through just say "I know what you have been saying and froends don't do that to friend so I can only assume you aren't one of mine"
make it noticable that you have the hump!,
they are no true friend,
and if this friend you thought of as a friend you was close to i bet you told him/her personal things that they have spread to other people, if so they're pathetic and dont deserve yo in company, choose someone else to do things with that you used to do with this backstabber,
or pick up the courage to say pi$$ off ;-)
Sorry, I wasn't getting at anything and I have no idea who you are talking about.

But this behaviour is typical of 'passive aggressive bullying' and is a very nasty form of manipulation and criticism without being openly aggressive. It is abusive to the recipient in a snidey underhand way - it is worse than being punched in the face in many ways.

I have seen this a lot between married people and it is just horrid.

Diogenes wrote "a friend is one soul abiding in two bodies". if you don't feel this way, ditch the "friend".
