Anaesthetic Dentistry in Herts?
11 Answers
Hi I have dentist phobia but need a lot of work done on my teeth. Does anyone know of anywhere in Herts, or North London where I could go to have fillings & crowns done under general anaesthetic?
Thank you.
Thank you.

however as mrxla has indicated you can get sedation at some clinics, but probably not o nthe NHS (althought the sedation clinic in the town where i live gives those people who recieve free nhs treatment sedation fr free)
look in the phone book, or ask you dentist where your nearest one is

You will struggle to find (although I believe it is possible in a few locations) to find the following:
- a consultant anaethetist who is happy to provide life threatening GA's for elective dentistry
- a restorative dentist who is skilled enough to carry out multiple, multi quadrant dentistry including preparation for extra-coronal restorations in one visit, and who is at the same time dense enough to believe that it will be possible to take 'dental' impressions for said crowns while you have an endotracheal tube in place
- do you expect to have another GA 1-2 weeks later for the 'crown fit' and what if they require adjustment, are they gonna 'slot' you back on the GA list

- Obviously you haven't thought this one through, sometimes 'special care' restorative work is carried out if absolutely necessary under GA but thats about it.
- presumably you are very, very, very, very, very rich if you presume to be able to afford a consultant anaethetist, a theatre team, worlds most dense and most brilliant restorative dentist on several occasions and obviously have achieved so much that you intend to risk your life for the process
