toddler homework help
hi my little one is 3 and has been set some home work this week. he needs lots of info on penguins. does anyone know any good web sites that a child of his age will understand as most of the ones i found go into loads of detail.

might be a little advanced for a 3 year old (also agree... 3 year olds with homework.... HUH!!!)

Unfortunately Ofsted early years does require a certain amount of education for under 5s so it's not the nursery - they are complying with the conditions of registration. I think it's ridiculous at that age - children learn through play and that's what they should be doing. Agree with the pictures idea
Homework at 3 years old, I've never heard of anything so barmy.
No wonder the majority of children are well p****d off with school by the time they leave.
When ever do they have the opportunity to learn through play ,as mentioned, or to socialise, or learn to integrate with other children.

its not all that bad lol. all the work done in the classroom is learning through play. they only have this type of work to do every other weekend and its supposed to encourage parents to take an interest in what there child is learning. they also have a term homework. last term it was to make a xmas scene in a box. this term its to make a puppet. i dont mind as we do alot of things like this at home anyway but some parents have no interest at all.
