How many hours will there be (assuming the current conventions aren't changed) in the first quarter of the year 2100? (i.e. From Midnight on New Year's Eve 2099 to midnight on 31st March 2100).

playgirl unless I'm missing something here, the number of hours will be the same as in any year that isn't a Leap Year. I have assumed you mean Midnight to mean the end of that day. The total days will be

Jan (31) + Feb (28) + Mar (31) = 90 days, so the hours will be 90 x 24 = 2160.

But the clocks are altered for British Summer Time in March!!! so it would be one hour less, unless BST is abolished in the meantime.
Surely 2100 will be a leap year, as it is divisible by 4? Therefore total is 2184 -1 for clocks going forward = 2183. (You did say assuming current conventions aren't changed.)
Well done Munden you have spotted my deliberate mistake and have won a year's supply of belly-button fluff.......
Barender only century years divisible by 400 are Leap Years. Nice try but no belly-button fluff for you.
