The vent(doll) was called Charlie McCarthy,and was a US National Institution.
Edgar Bergen was Candice Bergen(the actress) Father.
Charlie had his own room in the family house,was served food at all meals,and was talked to(by Edgar anyway) as a real human being!
He was buried with Edgar.
Candice said Charlie blighted her childhood!
