Un-neutered toms will spray urine about to mark their territory - not a nice smell in the house!

When un-neutered queens come into season, you will have hordes of the local toms howling outside your house - not nice in the early hours of the morning!

they are both females that never go out so is it really necessary to put them through the operation? tom cats howling outside have not been a problem during their last few seasons?
tiggy123 - I think you've answered your own question!
There are medical advantages in bitches - not sure if queens are the same.
Uterine tumours are less common in spayed bitches.
However the advantages are most if the bitch never has a season at all, good if after 1 season and then very little after that.

tiggy123 - I agree with IAP - if either of your cats do manage to slip out during the day/evening, there's every possibility of either of them getting pounced on & getting pregnant by some amorous Tom - so yes, I would have them spayed.

   hi there

well ive just had my 2 yr old cat(female) spayed even tho she is an indoor cat, i felt it was nessicery because she was coming into heat one week then again 2 weeks later, it got very annoying after a while. she also kept peeing on my bed and clothes. she seems more relaxed now and not a hyperactive. and now i know if she DOES escape she wont come back pregnant.

so i would say yes go 4 it, unless u want ur kitty to have kittens. its not that exsensive and she is out the same day with no lamp shade on her neck
