Not a question - merely a statement (again) keep going onto a post and getting 'no answers' so think it good idea to have a go only to find I've been pipped at the post (sorry 'bout the pun) and sometimes by three or four minutes.

I have been on the site for 6 months and only realised a couple of days ago that I could have the recent posts on, I was always just refreshing, doh!
But I know what you mean, you write an answer only to find that you are well down the queue of answers.

As someone who has just done that to you:

1. Unless the site is exceedingly slow, I usually press preview before finally pressing submit, then ditch my answer if it adds nothing to what has been posted

2. You can get penalised by the site if you post too much too quickly

3 I am sure that some answers get sent into orbit before being posted. On one occasion recently another poster complained of his posts not being shown; when I went back and looked, his where in front of mine, but had not been there the first time I looked.

The problem will allegedly be solved when the new site comes online. I've worked in the computer industry for over 40 years and have heard it all before, many times!!

thanks Elcee- sympathy received with thanks. Big Dave a full and informative answer -just what I've come to expect! any news on the squirrel and cygnet clue 6/3/6 amended from 7/3/6 (DT I think)

The trouble with the squirrel problem is that with that type of quiz there are no letters given - i'll stick to crosswords!!
