Actors and Love scenes

Do actors sometimes have intercourse in love scenes?(obviously not refering to pornographic films)For example that scene in irreversible seemed quite authentic as regards to the logistics(not the general theme if you know what I mean) What about those method actors do they sometimes infact insist on being as real as possible. In the majority of bona fide mainstream films I think not, however, there's been one or two films in recent years where "it" looked pretty authentic and there was certainly a lot of controversy generated at the time.

One film which springs to mind was 2001's Intimacy with Mark Rylance and Kerry Fox (and Timothy Spall of all people though thankfully he remained clothed!) Not sure about the authenticity of the supposed intercourse but "everything else" they did didn't look fake to me - like, it was pretty explicit !

Apparently (and I'm only going by what I've read and heard as I haven't seen the film), the full-on intercourse in Intimacy is faked but the BJ is for real.

Wasn't there some hoo-hah a while ago about supposed "real" on-film sex between Mickey Rourke and Carrie Otis? I think the film was called Wild Orchid or something similar.

It is claim that in the film 'Don't look now' the sex scenes were real. Urban myth or truth I don't know.

In "9 Songs" which was recenty out the 2 actors had intercourse in every sex scene. I was under the impression that this was the first film (non porno) to do this?
