Someone works for a private nursing home that has closed .

The owner says they cant pay redundancy to the workers because they the owner , have not been paid by social services .

What does the law says in this case
What are the redundant employees entitled to .
What should the employees do next

If the employer is genuinely insolvent, the information on this page applies:

However, if the company running the nursing home is not insolvent (e.g. because the home was a part of a group which is otherwise flourishing), the employer must still meet their statutory obligations, irrespective of any debt owed to the employer by the local authority. Start here:
