A few months ago I suddenly realised something was amiss when I kept waking up during the night needing a pee. Honestly, it was really bad and getting me down that I could not have a full night's sleep.
I was going to visit the doctor, but while looking at a health supplements site, I saw something that might help, so I ordered some, and it did - within a week I was sleeping all thru the night again.
I took the Saw Palmetto, but I have included a full link for you to read for yourself.
BTW, I don't constantly take them - haven't took any for ages, but I still have no problems.

OK in simple terms you have an enlarged prostate which is a gland at the base of the bladder. When it becomes enlarged it blocks the outlet of the bladder making it difficult to empty the bladder. Sometimes it partly empties giving you the impression that you want to go to the toilet a few minute after you have already been.
Enlarged prostate is common over the age of 50yrs and commonest cause is Benign Hypertrophy, nobody knows the cause.
Now the other less common reasonm is cancer, so you will have blood tests and perhaps biopsy to exclude this.
Good luck.

My husband had exactly the same problem about six years ago . It had been building up and he would not go to the doctor much as I nagged him about it .
Ended up not being able to pee at all and had to rush him to hospital with suspected kidney failure Typical man ..nothing wrong with me !
He had an enlarged prostate gland .Nothing nasty thank goodness. Simple op .Everything fine now .

Here in the U.S., a semi-yearly blood test is usually taken on men over the age of 50 to inicate Prostate-specific antigen (PSA) as a primary indicator for possible prostate cancer. The test results delivers a number... 0 to 2.5 is most desriable...anything above 10 is suspect. Highly recommended....
