Thats what I thought but it appears they have been in the 60s for years

That's what I thought, but in the last series a couple returned to the UK after running a bar in Spain. I somehow don't think so.

Not the early-to-mid 60s, rather the mid-to-late 60s. They hit 1969 quite a while ago and seem to have stuck there. Whenever you see the windscreen of a vehicle, pay close attention to the tax discs!
