Only, in the Thomson brochure, there are some apartments / hotels that are stated to be exclusively for Thomson Group in the UK, but these apartments / hotels are also in the Thomas Cook brochure. Thomas Cook have more variety of rooms, but Thomsons have a redundancy insurance available, which is mainly why I ask.

Thomson are part of the TUI group of companies and Thomas Cook are a separate Plc so no they are not connected.

Thanks emeritus, I had assumed they were separate but was confused by the "exclusive to..." goings on. Shame.
The trouble with Travel Companies is they don't seem to know what some English words mean!
I thing that Thompson AND Thomas Cook mean that the allocation of Apartments/Hotels that you mention are exclusive to them.
In other words:~
Hotel Costa Packet
has
500 rooms,
250 "Exclusive to Thomas Cook"
250 "Exclusive" to Thompson.
All it really means is that the hotel cannot let these rooms to anyone but clients of the allocated Travel Firms.
It also means that the Travel firms are more likely to be able to get you a room(for the dates you want) in these hotels,as they are not competing with other firms or the general public.

Thanks for responding Mr. V. - that must be what happens, but it's a bit misleading. Your interpretation makes perfect sense. I could see it was happening but couldn't figure out how. Cheers.
that's probably what it means, but if the brochures say the hotel is exclusive to Thomson then a complaint to trading standards people might be in order.

jno, it's just a case of along the bottom of the photo it has the caption "exclusive to Thomsons", so I'm sure they'd say they only meant certain rooms. I suppose I could mention it to Trading Standards, but as is the problem with a lot of society today, I'm not that fussed. Thank you for responding ......
It's much the same as some Estate Agents "For Sale" boards, which blatantly state "Exclusive Agents" in the plural, which is really not possible.
ha, if you asked them they might just say the photo was exclusive to them!
