more than 95% of people who become infected as adults or older children will stage a full recovery and develop protective immunity to the virus. However, only 5% of newborns that acquire the infection from their mother at birth will clear the infection. This population has a 40% lifetime risk of death from cirrhosis or hepatocellular carcinoma. [7] Of those infected between the age of one to six, 70% will clear the infection.[8

Why won't you just send your girlfriend to see a doctor. They will be able to give her the advice and any treatment that she may need. I think you said she's in Scotland, so it can't be that difficult.
I'm 20 weks pregnant and if I had Hep B, I'd be down my surgery in a shot to find out what my options are and the risks to the foetus. Although people here can offer advice, I doubt there are many actually qualified here, to give you the answers you need.
