dole and working...?
19 Answers
if you are on the dole, an you get one days work somewhere...what will happen with the dole...? are you allowed to earn anything...or will they just take that off you...?
because obviously you are not signing off properly...just a temporary thing...so how does that work...do they just halt the claim or something?
it sjust my friend gets occasional stewarding work, an i was thinking of doing it too...but its scarce work so i couldn't sign off properly, but if i dont get to keep the money...whats the point?
Thanks

what is it with this site?
you ask a simple question - you clearly state what you are asking and why - yet some just feel the need to jump in and attack, accuse, lecture, spout off etc etc etc, disregarding what you have actually asked, ...and focusing on one minor aspect of the question!
funnily enough, i was 100% aware that working and claiming dole was illegal...

and funnily enough, I was responding to BillySugger's "advice".. countering that view, if you see what I mean.
you will have a booklet called an ES40, your signing-on document (which you sign to say you've read and understood each time you sign-on), which contains most of the information you should need.
best of luck :o)

joko, honestly.. when you sign on you have to fill in an extra form if you've done any work. if you go over a certain number of hours in just one week they can close your claim, so you would have to start over again. casual work is a bit of a pain with benefits, which is why so many don't declare it. but people do get caught, for all sorts of reasons.
stewarding work.. is that at football matches/concerts? it's a well known area for fraud. and I'm not accusing you of anything!
