My wife has been a named driver on both our cars for years, with me as policy holder.

We have full no claims on both policies.

If she is made the policyholder on one of the two cars, would she qualify for no claims discount?

Not unless you are with Direct Line or one of the very few insurance companies that offer it.

Even then, it is not true no claims discount - she would have to insure with the same company
Some companies allow husband and wife to transfer NCD to the other person.
Speak to your insurers and sometimes if you write a letter confirming that you wish to transfer the NCD from one policy in your name to her then they may allow it.
The company i work for certainly do.

It isn't up for renewal until August, but we are planning ahead.
I use a broker, so I'll discuss it with them.
