Miss my husband!!

My husband has been away for a week in New York. Myself and our two children (3 and 8) have missed him so much. I collect him from the airport on Tuesday morning... and we'll have Tuesday and Wednesday together before he returns back to work on Thursday.

What nice things could I do that would really let him know just how appreciated and loved he is... and how much we've missed him. I know all the usual... cook for him...  get the best undies out....   etc etc...

but what else??????

You could get the kids to make him welcome home cards- that always does the trick! You could also prepare something in advance- the kids could make a video for example, for their Dad, with songs and made up stuff, and you it could be dedicated to him. You could either give it to him to take away again, or show it to him once the kids are in bed. That way he will really see how they miss him and appreciate him, plus it will be really lovely to keep in years to come!!

when I was little my dad used to go away on business every now and then for a week or two... me and my brother used to make a big banner saying 'welcome home' in big letters and just do lots of drawings and scribbles on it. That was in the days when computer paper came in a big roll, but you could use the back of a piece of wallpaper or something similar. It would keep the kids busy and quiet for a while if they like that sort of thing (bonus!)
