Why does The Sims keep crashing?

My Sims game, the Sims on Holiday, keeps crashing. I've tried Sims File Cop, disabling Anti-Virus and running the game in 800x600 mode. Does anyone know what I can do?

Can you be more specific? Does it crash on load or during play? Is it random or does it happen at a specific time/event? What error message do you get? Does your PC meet the minimum specification for the game? Is your graphics card compatible?

It is going to be down to a bad installation or a hardware/driver problem.

My game crashes mosly during play, when I'm creating a family or once i get into a house. Sometimes it crashes on load, and won't start at all. I have enough memory left on the hard drive, the graphics card has been upgraded and the sound card is ok too.

In the end you may find that uninstall, reboot then reinstall the game will solve the problem.
