Taking a lead from Lonnie's question

What if it was proved without any doubt that God does exist. What would be the reaction of the people who do not believe in God? Would they all start believing?
Although I have my doubts about that as in the past God has spoken to Moses (pbuh) and many other prophets had different sort of contact with God. God gave clear indication to people who wanted. But even then many did not believe in him.
But as I said that is all past, no one has time machine to go back and check it out. It might be true it might not be. But what would be the reaction of the people NOW.

If there was proof that was incontravertible then pretty much everybody would believe.
There's similar evidence that the earth is round and everybody believes it. It's just not an issue.
Yes I know there are a few flat-earthers but I don't believe they're serious!
Of course in the evidence was at that level it would no longer be religion.
So some people would have to come up with another set of hidden knowledge - for that is power

If there was absolutely no doubt that God exists, then there wouldn't be any unbelievers, Everyone would be going to Church, Mosques, Temples etc,
Possibly there may be more peace in the world, but without divine intervention, wars would still be waged, with each side claiming God was on their side.
Not forgetting that God, in the days before his dotage, when he actually spoke to his chosen, was the chief warmonger of them all.

You've given me a thought, Lonnie. If it was proven without doubt that God exists, I wonder if he'd be good enough to clarify what it is he actually wants from us and which of his rules is right or wrong? Perhaps if he did that, there would be only one religion, and then, although men would probably still find something to fight about, the world would be a far happier and more peaceful place.
Again, I do not want to change what people say, but I believe that the message Naomi is talking about is in the Quran. Just imagine for a minute with open mind. Why after 1400 years still Quran is same word to word any where in the world? Why we have all the historical links going back as far as 1400 years too? Why Quran talks about the books revealed before to other prophets and of course talks about these books being altered too? Why in Quran Allah says that he himself has taken the responsibility to guard Quran and as a result of that why there is an unbroken chain of millions of Haffaz (people who know Quran A to Z by heart) since the time it originally revealed?

Keyplus, anyone who takes your advice and looks at the Koran with an open mind need not look far the answers. Theyre obvious. The reason the Koran talks about all the books revealed before to other prophets is because Mohammed based the Koran on those books. In fact he hijacked the stories, and so he was just as guilty, in fact more so, of altering them as those who came before him in the name of other religions. Then he had the bright idea of adding a bit to tell you that Allah himself has taken the responsibility to guard the Koran - and then he threw in even worse threats and even more inhumane punishment clauses for the crime of non-belief than those contained within the books that he filched the ideas from in the first place. And there you have it. People filled with tales of magic and superstition - and too afraid not to believe it for fear not only of divine eternal punishment, but of brutal worldly punishment too. Its a pity you dont take your own advice and look at the Koran with an open mind - but sadly, as we know, that isnt possible.

The message I was talking about wouldnt come from any of our current religious manuals because Im convinced that if God were to be proven to exist, he wouldnt be nearly as ridiculous, nor as cruel, nor as hateful as religion tells us he is - hence, in my view, his rules and expectations would be nothing like religion would have us believe. Anyone capable of creating something as complex as the universe and everything in it surely must possess a good deal more intelligence than religion gives him credit for. Thats just common sense.

Keyplus, if we do as you suggest and look at the Koran with an open mind the answers are not hard to find. They are glaringly obvious. The reason the Koran talks about the books 'revealed' before is because those books already existed and Mohammed took the stories from them and used them as a basis for his new ghost-written best seller. The Koran says that Allah has taken responsibility to guard it because Mohammed knew that if he included that, it was guaranteed to scare the living daylights out of an already superstitious people. Then he threw in even more vicious punishments for disbelievers than the old books already contained, and voila! The populace were hooked not only by the fear of divine and eternal retribution in the hereafter, but by the fear of barbaric and brutal punishment in this world too - which also explains why there is an unbroken chain of people who know the Koran by heart. They wouldn't dare forget it!
The message I was talking about wouldn't come from any religious book that we know today. I'm not quite sure what sort of being they promote as God, but if there is a God then I'm convinced it isn't him. It seems very clear to me that anything, or any being, that possesses the sort of unimaginable intelligence magnificently powerful enough to create the universe and everything in it, and to organise the on-going evolution of all living things, could not possibly be so utterly ridiculous, nor as cruel, nor as hateful, as religion would have us believe this God is.
Perhaps you should take your own advice and look at the Koran with an open mind.
I replied to your post last night, but the site seems to have been experiencing problems, and answers from other people disappeared too.
