I have downloaded ZA's free firewall and of course have had a fair number of 'pop-ups' but one which pops up over and over is 'Prevalence is trying to access the trusted zone', even before I start doing anything. I do deny it but wondered if anyone can tell me what it is and if it is useful. TIA.

I presume you have AVG 8.0 installed as your antivirus. Prevalence Reporter lets you know about potentially malicious and dangerous sites on the internet.

Allowing Prevalence Reporter to run on your PC will mean that your web searches will be accompanied by a green or grey check mark next to them. A green site is safe, while a grey site could be dangerous. You then need to make a decision about the site you are trying to access continue to visit it, or take AVG's advice and leave it alone.

It's perfectly safe to run Prevalence Reporter, but it won't harm AVG 8.0 if you don't.

Thank you for that Kempie, oh dear, it is a 'goodie' and I just ticked remember this reply and deny!!! How do I get it back please? Rosy
Double-click the ZoneAlarm icon in your system tray to open its control centre .

Navigate to Program Control → Programs

Scroll down the list to Prevalence reporter. You will see red Xs in the Access and Server columns. Clicking each X will bring up a menu allowing you to select a green tick (Allow).

Thank you again Kempie, easy when you know how, but such a nightmare when you don't. Rosy
