I have just been given a Dazzle for a birthday - it captures old video tape to digital ( on to the hard drive or burn a dvd ) I have captured some tape on to my hard drive and it all works perfectly however when I burn it on to a DVD using windows DVD maker the sound is way - and I mean WAY! out of sync with the picture.
While the picture is normal - the sound seems to slow down and stop / start so that in just a few seconds the whole thing is unwatchable HELP !! ( in plain english please I'm not a computer whizz ) thanks

this won't be much help ... I don't do much with video - but it might prompt someone who knows or remembers what they are talking about.

I seem to remember something about a prog that allows the vid and sound tracks to be retimed to cure this problem.

that's all I remember - anyone?

i had dazzle too same problem
never solved it either its far easier to play your tape in a video player (if you still have one )and plug the output scart into the input scart on a digital recorder stick a disc in and record to that or its hard drive, and far far quicker as no conversion has to be done as it does with dazzle

If you google "Dazzle sync problem", you'll find that you are not alone - seems that at least 50% of Dazzle users end up binning it for this very reason. Unfortunately, no-one seems to offer a solution...

rojash - I just looked at google dazzle sync problems and clicked on a little add for free pinnacle dazzle drivers, it suggests I download the driver updates and this will solve all my probs It only mentions audio once and says nothing about syncing what do you think - will it harm my pc to download stuff like this - I feel out of my depth -would you have a look and advise please - or anyone reading this - thanks
Well, I can't see that it will do any harm, and who knows? it may do some good. If you prefer, before you download the drivers, post the specific link on here, and I'll check that it's not malware first.

oh when I sent it - it did change

wow hoo every days a school day !!
Driver detective will scan your system and try to work out which drivers need updating. Then, if you want to update them, you'll have to pay to register the product.

Some people think it's an OK product. Personally, I've found that it continuously makes mistakes:

Sometimes it will actually downgrade your drivers

Sometimes, it fails to recognise that it has upgraded drivers and continually assets that upgrades are available.

Sometimes it completely misidentifies a device and replaces the correct drivers with the wrong ones.

thanks I won't bother with this then
