Changing money in North Africa

Do you have any tips for exchanging money in out of the way destinations, especially North Africa?

Credit cards are accepted in most towns and most of the larger towns will have banks with ATM machines in, these will accept most bank cash cards. So your best bet is to exchange money in towns before going off to more rural areas. Try to keep it in a secure money belt.
