I have recently been skiing in the Alps, and to me there is something rejuvinating about spending time up on a mountain. Good for the soul perhaps and that nice feeling of looking down on the world. Does anyone else share this feeling and I'm wondering if it this is a good treatment for alleviating depression? I wasn't depressed before I went but I certainly feel happier than I did.

I agree, when I went trekking to the Himalayas I found that the mountains were particularly awe-inspiring and uplifting.
I've only visited the Alps once, but it was an exhilerating experience.  Last summer my husband and I took a trip down south to visit his parents, and we took our time through Virginia, Tennessee, and North Carolina.  The Smokey Mountains and Blue Ridge Mountains were so beautiful, peaceful and relaxing...  I told my husband that I had decided we're going to retire in the mountains somewhere.
I love the mountains.  A good hike in the mountains always makes me feel better about life!  Before we moved to the UK, my wife and I made sure that there were some kind of moumtains close by.  If there were no mountains around, we definitely would not have decided to move here.  And now that we are here, we try to visit the Mourne mountains at least every other weekend (They're very accessible by bus).
