I had it lastnight :-( First time in years, I had a huge spider on my face and a ladybird that was bigger than it. Grabbed spider and flung it across room flinging all the duvet with it then ran to light and switched it on. Searched all under bed and nothing, the realsied when I turned light off there was nothing I would have seen in a room that dark.

Wow, that is scary!

I thought paralysis meant you couldn't move!

It was just a very bad nightmare.

you can have either, one is where you are parylised and feels like someone is sat on your chest and you cant lift your head, (Brain wakes up before body) Other is where you halusinate (Body wakes up before Brain), I have seen all sorts I havent had it for years and first time I have had it with bloke in bed. was very funny
i havnt done it for years either, but i used to fight spiders. Once i even sat up and started shouting at brother to get out of my room, was throwing stuff at him.

of coursehe wasnt there and my husband found it highly amusing.

4get ... you gotta stop eating pizza before bedtime !!!
I haven't had it for a while but I sleep on my front and I used to just feel pinned to the bed occasionally I thought someone was whispering in my ear as a kid.

I did sleep at someones house when I was pregnant with my first boy and woke in the middle of the night to feel myself getting dragged up the bed. I was terrified, there was no one else there. I to this day don't know whether i was actually getting pulled or managed to manoeuvre my way up the bed without realising it.

I had it one night where a bloke came up to side of bed than dropped his spirit down into my body and I jumped. I put most peoples ghostly siting down to sleep paralysis
I get this very occasionally thinking there are other people in the room and it can be scarey when you feel you are paralysed and struggle to move and wake up. I wiggle my toes and that usually works.
Reading this this morning, it is freaky - I had such an episode last night - the first one in years and probably about the 4th or 5th one ever. It felt like someone pulling on my arms, trying to move my body - as though a 'spirit' is trying to take me away. I try to cry out or scream but nothing comes out. Then I kept feeling arms around my waist - the feeling was very real & weird. Eventually I think I did manage a 'no' and it left me alone - but it always leaves me very shaken for the rest of hte night.
The first time I had it, I was told by some well-meaning soul (not) it was an incubus and it was trying to lay on top of me and have sex with me - now I looked up what an incubus was & it scared the life out of me. Then I saw a film not long afterwards, called Entity - which was a similar story about a woman being raped by an incubus. It took me ages to get over that, & I was terrified of it happening again.
I think now I accept it as sleep paralysis or a night terror - but they are very realistic and frightening.

they used to terify me too and leave me shaken for quite some time. But I try and get it in my head that when there is a ginat penguin sat on my bed it cant be real I have a torch at side od bed so I can shine a light on it and not try get up and switch light on semi consious. One that scared the hell out of me was a man with a huge knife scratching it along my kitchen worktop, I knew it wasnt real though as I could see through my bedroom wall to the kitchen. lol.
Just ignore all the stories about incubus and those people who tell you all that rubbish. What is happening is a well known condition called sleep paralysis which happens to a lot of people. It is scarey when it happens but relax the best way you can until you "jump" awake.
