But I quite like Paul Daniels and Debbie McGee. They don't take themselves too seriously and despite the age gap/bad press they've received in the past, they seem genuinely happy together.

he's quite grumpy isnt he and a bit set in his ways
Question Author
I've just watched them in an interview and he was jovial!
thats like a 10 second interview. Did you ever see him in wife swap?
Question Author
It was slightly longer than 10 seconds. I think I did yes. It was a few years back if I am recalling correctly.
He didnt come across all jolly on that. He was quite boring. But then who would want to go out with Vanessa Phelps
and 10 seconds was tongue in cheek, didnt expect to be spot on when I didnt see interview, but I just meant people are hardly going to be grumpy in a short television interview
I loved that Wife Swap with Paul Daniels. He was grumpy almost all the way through. I couldn't have lived with any of them though.

When I was younger I did enjoy watching Paul's shows, but he didn't seem so weird back then.
I can't stand him or his wife!

But everyone to their own. ;o/
I must admit I am one of a legion of people who have taken the mickey out of Paul and debbie for years. I will always remember Caroline Aherne (was it as Mrs Merton) asking "Debbie - what exactly was it that first attracted you to millionnaire Paul Daniels..."
However, I think they have proved all the cynics wrong, including me, and have stayed the course and do genuinely come across as a happy loving couple. Good on them.
Mrs Merton was brilliant that night, Salla. She later told Paul that her husband had a magic trick. He put his hands in his trouser pockets and they came out smelling of cheese. Gross, but funny!
I'm in my 20's. Was Paul ever funny?
I don't think he has ever been funny.
But - resilient, and at the end of the day he does seem able to take a joke at his expense - even taking the mickey out of himself - so I supose he's got to be given some credit for that at least?
they seem an ok couple better than leo sayer hes evil
