I find that you need to keep your underwear on, but slip it down over the cheeks at the back. This gives free egress while maintaining a modicum of decency.

my bum is rather quiet now, isnt it embarrassing when you really want to fart when you are walking past people, i look around to see who will get a full monty from me!!!

I find cycling helpful after a night on the sprouts. You know the way that horses fart in time with their back legs? especially if you throw stones at them. Well cycling is like that, you get a fart per revolution, and it's all in the open air.
