I'm 13st 2lbs and I want to lose 2 stone! I'm watching what I eat and looking into ways of losing weight instead of going to aerobics classes or the gym. I quite fancy taekwondo but my younger brother said I'm way to fat to do that!

Can anyone tell me if there is a weight limit on this sport?

I don't know if there's a weight limit, but if Sumo wrestlers can cope with what they have to do, I don't see a problem for you. You are surely svelte in comparison.
Sorry, I've just re-read my answer and it sounds awful. What I meant was that you should ignore your brother's hideous crass comments and do what YOU want to do. If you decide to take it up, I'm sure the teacher will give you all the help and encouragement you deserve.
Hi - I think its a fantastic way to lose weight, exercise classes can sometimes be a bit boring whereas you'd be learning a whole new sport. Go for it - then practice on your brother!! Best of luck xx

You are never too "fat" to take up any physical activity. How well you do in that activity, has more to do with fitness than size.

You have to start somewhere, so taking up an exercise you may enjoy, means you are more likely to stick at it and see positive results, than if you spend your time, bored walking on a treadmill.
I agree with Velvetee. Go for it Joanne. The more exercise you do, the fitter you'll become anyway - providing you have a gooid diet as well.
