1) (for women!) - have regular smear tests. today's news happens every day lots of women.
2) check your smoke alarms work.
3) wear a seatbelt in the car.
4) consider whether you need a proper carbon monoxide alarm.

what else??

Blimey - sad day sara - let do a night out soon and chat up unsuitable men!!
4get - I never used to wear a seat belt, for fear of not being able to get out of a car quickly enough in the event of an accident - God forbid. But after watching so many accident & emergency programmes on tv, they made me see sense, so now I do.
lol joggerjayne! I couldn't be bothered to type both words, hence the CM! ;o}

no, nk, you have to try though. you're getting to that age where you just can't be sure when you'll need to go next...
smudge a mate of mine was in work van in passenger seat without seatbelt on, driver fell asleep at wheel and they hit a bridge, as they hit bridge my mate was flung through windscreen free from van. And then the van continued whilst the bridge ripped the passengers side clean away
OMG 4get - that was a near miss for the passenger!

I used to pretend I had my seat belt on, but just straddled it across without fastening it. I realised I wouldn't be setting a very good example to our girls, who did wear one, or when the grandchildren came along, so that's why I started belting up!
