Hi, Can anyone remember a TV play about a young couple who take a boat up the river/canal and pick up a hitch-hiker. The stranger eventually kills the young chap. The last scene has the boat about to enter a tunnel called armageddon or some such. I've searched the web and all the titles of 'plays for today-type of thing. Its driving me bananas!!!

Sounds like Way Upstream, the TV version of the Alan Ayckbourn play.
i remember this. it was quite dark. I remember the bloke who played the hitchhiker wasn't known for playing baddies and at the start i didn't know if it would be believable - but i can't remember who he was!!

Ta muchly. Thats the one. And you're right about the hitchhiker. I'd never have cast that actor as a baddie but didn't he make a good one. I'm told by my actor friends that baddies are easier to play than goodies.
