when can u hear the heart beat for the frist i got a doc. apt today and i am 12weeks and 6 days is it too soon???

baby can hide and so often a midwife wont even try to listen for fear of worrying the mother unduly. Many wont een try to listen until at least 16 weeks.

My midwife let us listen to the heartbeat at 13wks. It took some finding but when she did find it, it was very strong.

Dont worry if you cant hear it. Sometimes 13 weeks is too early to hear. xxx

When I had my 12 week scan, I clearly heard the hertbeat.

yes i do when i frist found out i didnt belive it until i seen the ultra sound now that i hear the heart beat it was like i cant explain it because this is my frist

Seeing those first scans, with that little heart beating away - whether you can hear it or not - is one of the wonderful moments of pregnancy. Another one is when your baby starts kicking - but don't start worrying if these seem to die down at times, because even growing babies need to sleep sometimes. x

congratulations honey. I know exactly how you feel. I am know 15wks +5 and now it's been a couple of weeks since I heard it, I'm starting to get the same old feelings again. It's difficult when you don't have any symptoms at all. I'm just hoping to start feeling the flutters anytime now, and only 5wks till my next scan.
